Project at completion |
Last weekend I got a call from a friend saying he had bought a liqueur cabinet and he needed help installing it. With me not being the most practical guy, this of course meant he needed company while doing it himself.
When finished with the cabinet, me having handed over the tools he didn't need, we saw there was a need for shelves next to it, so he could have his audiobook and cd collection in his living room.
Having done some measurements, we were off to the hardware store, buying shelves.
When we returned home, all will to do anything had disappeared, so, while sitting down looking at the cabinet and the empty space, the project got temporarily postponed.
But, after a half small beer each (we both had business to do that included driving later in the evening), our working-spirits were again at high, possibly more so than earlier, we got it together and started mounting the shelves. This time I was more involved, not necessarily doing more of the actual work, it was more like active guidance.
At completion, we were both very satisfied with the accomplishment, even though most of the work was done by him. This surprised me, because I can't understand how I got that feeling while not really doing very much. But in the end who cares, the project turned out really fine and he had his audiobooks more accessible.
